Laid-Back Camp Event Heads to...Sengoku Festival?
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
It seems like you can't turn your head without running into the characters of including a stamp rally.
But one event is featuring series' cast member Hanamori will be at Yamanashi's largest festival, the Shigen-ko Festival dedicated to the Sengoku-era warlord Takeda Shingen in Kofu.
The official Twitter for the area's tourism mascot, who also wears Takeda Shingen's helmet, announced the event. Hanamori's talk will take place on April 7, the second day of the three-day festival. Other events include a Princess Koihime contest and a large army re-enactment with over 1,500 actors taking the battlefield in Maizuru Castle Park.

Takeda Shingen makes a brief appearance in Laid-Back Camp in episode nine where Nadeshiko is home sick. She and her family try houtou made by Chiaki for the first time. Houtou is a Yamanashi speciality; a noodle dish comprised of flat udon noodles and vegetables cooked in miso broth. It's different from standard udon because the noodle dough more closely resembles the kind used for dumplings. Chiaki's dish is so good it briefly summons Takeda to enjoy a bowl.
Was this scene enough to inspire the cross over event? It's hard to say, but Yamanishi's Shigen-ko Festival could see an influx of camping fans this year.
