Macross Frontier, dropped to #10 on Kogyo Tsushinsha's chart in its second weekend. However, on Rentrak Theatrical, chart, it stayed at #9 and earned US$636,691 on just 30 screens for a per-screen average of US$21,223.

After two weekends, Macross Frontier: Itsuwari no Utahime has attracted over 220,000 viewers and earned a total of US$2,627,707. Much like the Macross series, and revolves around a fighter pilot named Alto Saotome and two singers named Sheryl Nome and Ranka Lee.

The only new film in the top 10 was Chris Weitz's The Twilight Saga: New Moon, which ranked #5 on Kogyo Tsushinsha's chart. On Rentrak Theatrical's chart, it ranked at #6 and earned US$792,439 on 197 screens.
