Totoro Sells 1-Millionth DVD after 440 Weeks in Japan

Miyazaki, Ghibli's film DVD has remained in Japan's weekly top 300 since 2001
Gore Verbinski's Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest has also sold one million copies in Japan, but has only ranked on the weekly charts 26 times.
Despite this record, Totoro is only the #3 top-selling Ghibli film on DVD in Japan to date. Howl's Moving Castle has sold an estimated 1.216 million copies on DVD since 2005.
