film dropped from the #1 to the #2 spot during the July 24-25 weekend. In its second weekend, the movie earned US$6,886,234 on 447 screens to add its total of US$29,882,459.
Meanwhile, the newest franchise has since made US$20,220,013 on 369 screens.
The Last Airbender, M. Night Shyamalan's live-action remake of the popular American animated series, fell from #5 to #6 with US$788,589 in its second weekend. The live-action film has since made US$4,074,083 since its opening weekend in Japan on 387 screens. In addition, Surely Someday, the feature directorial debut of actor Shun Oguri, fell from #9 to #8 on Kogyo Tsushinsha's chart (and from #8 to #9 on Box Office Mojo's chart) with US$391,969 in its second weekend. Surely Someday has since made US$1,757,118 while on 186 screens.
Anpanman franchise has since made US$1,702,750 on 151 screens.
The new #1 film was Christopher Nolan's Inception.
