Star Blazers/Yamato 2199 DVD/Blu-rays Offered With English/Spanish Subtitles

Pre-orders begin on December 19 for first volume's release on February 27

The StarBlazers.com website announced on Sunday that it will offer new DVD and Blu-ray Discs of the Space Battleship Yamato 2199 anime project with English and Spanish subtitles, under the name Star Blazers 2199. There will be six discs for the 26-episode series, and pre-orders will begin on December 19 for the first volume, which will ship on February 27, 2014.

The website also announced the anime's official Shiori Kawana will promote Star Blazers outside Japan as the "Official Yamato Girl."

With Space Battleship Yamato 2199, director announced in September that a brand new film has been green-lit for next year.

Bandai Visual offered the Japanese Blu-ray Discs of the anime with English subtitles.
