Ghibli's Princess Kaguya Grosses US$333,017 After Its 4th Weekend

Film currently playing in 29 theaters across the U.S.

Box Office Mojo is estimating that expanded into 29 theaters but Box Office Mojo is only calculating based on 28 theater showings. The film is currently not ranked for the weekend, ranked #24 in the highest grossing anime films, and #26 in highest grossing opening weekends for an anime film.

Disney's Big Hero 6 animated film opened in North American theaters on November 7, and it ranked in the #1 spot last weekend. The film grossed an estimated US$56,215,889.

The film will continue to open in multiple other North American theaters over the next few weeks.

The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) held the film's North American gave the movie the Audience Award on September 23.

The Tale of the Princess Kaguya is based on the famous Japanese folktale Taketori nominated for Best Animated Feature Film for the eighth Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA).
