The official website for the band March comes in like a lion manga.
A special edition of the manga's 10th compiled volume shipped on November 28 with the single CD for 1,296 yen ($11). The single itself shipped on the same day with a March comes in like a lion spinoff (drawn by Umino) for 250 yen ($2). The volume's special edition ranked #3 on Oricon's chart of best-selling manga volumes after its debut, and the regular edition ranked #1.
The website states that the collaboration started because Umino is a fan of BUMP OF CHICKEN and the of BUMP OF CHICKEN are fans of March comes in like a lion.
The story of the manga follows a solitary shōgi player named Rei and his relationships with a neighboring family. He becomes acquainted with Akari, and two young girls, Hinata and Momo, who also have have a large number of cats.
Umino won the 18th Tezuka Osamu Prizes' Top Award in March.
Umino also drew the Eden of the East anime.
