Spoiler (highlight the following white text to read the plot summary of the film) [The story of the film begins after the events of the second season, at the graduation ceremony of the third-year students. Knowing that the graduation of the third-year means the end of μ's, the nine girls take a walk around the school filled with memories. However, when the students attempt to leave the school gates, a single email is sent to them, and the curtain on a new story for μ's begins.]
The film will premiere in Japan on June 13. The first round of special pre-reserve tickets will have one of ten special illustrations on both the ticket, as well as a bonus clear file folder. The special tickets went on sale February 7 at various movie theaters across Japan.
The film will feature the return of the cast of all nine idols. Much of the staff will also return, with Yoshiaki Fujisawa will once again compose the music.
In 2010, the anime studio Sunrise, Lantis, and announced in June 2013.
