Patalliro! Comedy Manga Gets Stage Play in December

Long-running series about mischievous prince already inspired anime

The original manga's story follows Patalliro, the crown prince of Malynera. The bodyguard Bancoran protects the prince from assassination amidst misadventures and mischief. One of the many bishōnen assassins, Maraich, falls in love with Bancoran.

Maya launched the manga in Melody magazines. The manga began serializing on Hakusensha's Hana LaLa Online website in May. Hakusensha released the 96th compiled book volume in April. The series claims to be Japan's longest-running gag manga.

The manga has inspired various spinoff manga, a television anime adaptation in 1982, and the Patalliro Saiyuki! spinoff manga also inspired a television anime series in 2005.
