Anime Event Storms the Poconos Next Month: Yushi-Con to Host Third Annual Convention
East Stroudsburg, PA -- Yushi-Con is a multi-genre anime convention taking place at East Stroudsburg University's science and technology building, hosted by East Stroudsburg University alumni and community . The event features a full guest roster of acclaimed anime & video game industry professionals featured in popular anime and game series. They will also be having presenters, artists, vendors and more throughout the day.
Yushi-Con's goal is to bring the animation, gaming, and geek industry-at-large to the Monroe County and Poconos area. They bring high-value industry guests and presenters from all over the tri-state area. The event hopes to breathe a blossoming creative presence into the Poconos and Greater New York area, and give the locals a chance to network with other ionate animation fans, gaming fans, creators and stars alike.
Their industry guests include Sonic the Hedgehog and more. She also is the director for the Pokémon Sun and Moon animated series.
Other guests include eSports content by No Pause Tournaments, a life-scale replica of Initial D's Toyota AE86, entertainment by Manly Battleships, and presentations by YouTuber Fiaura the Tank Girl.
Previously hosted in 2014 and 2015 by East Stroudsburg University's Anime Club with from the ESU Game Society, and organized by ambitious students in the hopes of bringing not only the animation and gaming industry, but people from all pop culture together at home in the Poconos. Their 2014 event drew 150 attendees, and their second consecutive event in 2015 saw a doubling of interest with 300 attendees. Yushi-Con has seen industry guests such as cosplayers such as Abby Normal, who hosted presentations about sexual harassment issues and awareness involving cosplay.
This event will be taking place on October 13, at East Stroudsburg University's Science and Technology Building on 108 Normal Street. The convention opens at 9 a.m. and will be running a full schedule all the way through midnight until 1 a.m.
